Author Guidelines

Language Policy

NGJMR accepts manuscripts written in either Indonesian or English. Whichever language is used for the body of the manuscript, the title, abstract, and keywords must be provided in both Indonesian and English. Manuscripts written in English are encouraged and will be prioritised for international indexing.

1. General Requirements

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Submissions must align with the journal’s multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary scope. Authors are responsible for the clarity, accuracy, and academic quality of their manuscripts. Authors may be affiliated with universities, research institutes, or government and professional bodies, or may submit as independent researchers.

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

Original research articles, review articles (systematic or literature review), conceptual papers, and case studies.

3. Manuscript Structure

a. Title — concise and informative, maximum 15 to 20 words, provided in both Indonesian and English.

b. Author information — full names, institutional affiliations or the designation Independent Researcher, the email address of the corresponding author, and ORCID identifiers where available.

c. Abstract — 150 to 250 words, provided in both Indonesian and English, covering background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion.

d. Keywords — three to five keywords, provided in both Indonesian and English.

e. Introduction — background, research context, research gap, and objectives.

f. Methods — research design, data collection techniques, and data analysis.

g. Results and Discussion — presentation of findings, interpretation, and comparison with previous studies.

h. Conclusion — summary of key findings, implications, and recommendations.

i. References — a minimum of 15 to 25 entries, of which at least 70 per cent should be journal articles published within the last 5 to 10 years.

4. Formatting Guidelines

File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx). Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt. Line spacing: 1.5. Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides. Manuscript length: 5,000 to 8,000 words. Referencing style: APA 7th Edition.

5. Citation and References

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero. All references must follow APA 7th Edition style, and a DOI must be included wherever one is available.

6. Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively. Each must carry a clear caption and, where applicable, a statement of source. Table captions appear above the table and figure captions below the figure. All images must be legible at print resolution.

7. Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20 per cent. Manuscripts exceeding this limit may be rejected or returned for revision.

8. Submission Process

Manuscripts must be submitted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Authors must register and log in before submitting. All required metadata, including authors, title, abstract, and keywords, must be completed in both Indonesian and English.

9. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review. Each manuscript is examined by at least two independent reviewers. The estimated review period is two to four weeks. Editorial decisions are Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Reject.

10. Article Processing Charges

Submission fee: free. Publication fee: free. NGJMR charges authors nothing at any stage.

11. Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism, that data are accurate and neither fabricated nor manipulated, that all sources are properly cited, and that all co-authors have approved the submission. Where the research involves human participants, ethical clearance must be stated in the Methods section.

12. Template Requirement

Authors are required to use the official NGJMR manuscript template to ensure consistency of formatting and style. The template is available on the journal website.
